Beauty Tips & Advice

The best tips and tricks to make you look your best all day long, straight from the experts!

My Top Skincare Tip: Exfoliation
Exfoliate twice daily. Not only does it unclog your skin, relieving it from all the oils and chemicals it endures all day (and night) long it banishes those unwanted dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling fresh and clean.
Try 'The Body Shop' exfoliating cloth $11.95 AU.

Fabulous Face Mask!
Ingredients for a hydrating, natural facial mask:
~1/2 of a banana
~1/2 of an avocado
~1 tblsp of chopped cucumber
~1 tblsp of yoghurt
~1 tblsp of olive oil
Mix together with a blender.
After applying a thick layer to your face, leave it on for thirty minutes before washing with warm water. :)
Placing cucumber slices over your eyes doesn't actually 'help' you in anyway, buut it feels nice!

Dry Scalp At-Home Remedy
Cure a dry scalp quickly and easily by massaging it with warm olive oil, and covering for ten minutes with a shower cap to ease dryness and itching.
Try adding some nice smelling flower petals to make your hair smell nicer.

Applying Perfume
A few years ago, a lady at a perfume desk told me to never apply perfume to your neck or the back of the ears because it can discolour and cause the skin on your neck to sag. Instead she told me to apply it to the insides of the elbows and at the back of the knees.

Puffy Eyelids: Covered
Waking up with puffy or swollen eyelids can be a pain. Try to avoid using pale eyeshadow, it highlights them. Another option is applying a colour that is minimum one shade darker than the surrounding skin.

Irritated Eyes/Eyelids: Fixed
Puffy eyelids or irritated eyes can be a bother, so act on it! Fill a cup with cold water and place two metal teaspoons inside. Put the glass in the freezer for five minutes. Place the teaspoons over your eyelids and hold for at least thirty seconds. If they're still irritated, repeat the process.

Perfume in your Hair? Yes, you read it right!
Not many people know this, but spraying perfume in your clothes is ineffective and wears of quickly. It's best to apply perfume to your hair because it stays in for much longer - in my experience the whole day! - and spreads the aroma successfully.

Weak, tearing nails? Problem solved.
It is carefully advised by Los Angeles manicurist Georgyanna Giardini to avoid weak and tearing nails by never filing after a shower.

Moisturiser Can Damage!
Be careful when applying moisturiser to your face! Rubbing it in can actually damage your skin, so pat it on to ensure the skin soaks it up.
